Viewing Lough Leane in safety and comfort
The Lily of Killarney is safe, comfortable, modern, covered and heated. It’s a Dutch-built watercoach, designed specifically for lakes.
You may have heard that Killarney gets a little drop of rain a few times a year, or that you can’t sunbathe every day of the year! With that in mind, we chose a boat that would ensure people’s comfort as well as safety, from the youngest to the oldest.
So The Lily of Killarney, with its roof and its heating, will keep you warm if it’s cool and dry if it’s wet!
However, there’s an outside deck at the back of the boat if you want to enjoy the fresh air and take photographs.
The boat was built in Zandaam in the Netherlands in 1994. Built specifically for lakes, it is both higher and wider than the canal boats upon which it was based.
We’ve been running tours since the mid-1980s and The Lily of Killarney‘s predecessor was, in fact,a canal boat.
Our one-hour (approx.) tour of the lake is not only enjoyable in itself, but will give you magnificent views of mountain scenery, secluded bays and wooded islands.
